Lady Gaga Believes She Has '2 Souls'

Lady Gaga's paternal aunt Joanne Germanotta tragically died of lupus at the age of 19, but Gaga believes she's living on through her and inspiring all of her music and art.

Lady Gaga told WWD: “I really believe I have two hearts. I think I actually carry two souls in my body, and that I’m living out the rest of her life and her goodness -- she died a virgin, she died never having experienced all these things that we all get to love and experience in our lives. I think that I work in her image. I work in this life as part pop singer and part humanitarian, and to do great things for people because she was a good person and I don’t think she had enough time to do enough good.”

The 24-year-old singer insists the thing that is driving her career is her desire to help “disenfranchised” people, and she says she wrote her new track "Born This Way" -- which has been described as a pro-gay anthem -- to help her fans.

Lady Gaga, who won three Grammy awards last weekend, explained: “I have so many young fans. I feel not only connected to them, but I feel responsible for them in many ways. They’re very smart. They’re very full of life. And it’s an important thing for me to listen to them. And when they say, ‘I feel disenfranchised,’ I speak for them as much as I can.

“I don’t do this for the money -- I want to make a difference. And I am making a difference with my music, which is why I wrote my new song, ‘Born This Way.’ It’s a song that’s much bigger than me or my understanding of fame. I want to continue to make a difference in every way that I can.”

Lady Gaga's Studio Style: Bra, Beret and See-Through Tights

Lady Gaga's Studio Style: Bra, Beret and See-Through Tights

Always keeping it interesting when it comes to her clothing choices, Lady Gaga showed off another unique ensemble while leaving a Manhattan recording studio on Wednesday (February 16).

The "Bad Romance" hitmaker was clad in a studded beret, black bra, leather jacket, see through tights and high heel cowboy boots as she looked quite focused following the music-making outing.

With a lot going on career-wise these days, Gaga's choreographer Laurieanne Gibson recently spoke with MTV about what fans can expect from the upcoming music video for her new single "Born This Way".
Gibson dished, "I can't tell you, but I will tell you it is a life-changing experience. You can expect the highest level of execution in vocal music art and dance ... but you will be shocked."

Also commenting on the decision by the singer to arrive at the Grammy Awards in her plastic pod, Laurieanne told, "Well, actually it's a vessel. When Lady Gaga played me the record, it took me quite some time to feel the direction and the inspiration, and when she played it for me two weeks later, I was like, 'I think I got it.' I said, 'We have to birth a new race, a race that cannot hate.' And, of course, as genius as she is, she runs with it."

Lady Gaga replied, “Yeah, some people do. Especially in bed.” Anderson added, “You don’t want somebody yelling out ‘Lady Gaga!’”

The Lady also showed Anderson the lowly East Side apartment where she lived before her massive rise to stardom. Unfortunately, the current resident declined to let them in.

GaGa campaigns for gay army rights

Lady GaGa
Lady GaGa has posted a message on YouTube in a bid to overturn a law that affects the rights of gays and lesbians in the army.

The singer posted several messages on Twitter asking fans to campaign against the 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' law, which forces soldiers to keep their sexuality secret.

Although a vote is being held next week to scrap the law, GaGa is protesting against Senator John McCain, who plans to obstruct the motion.

She has since posted a message on YouTube, which shows the star dressed in a suit, sitting in front on an American flag.

GaGa gave several accounts of soldiers she had personally contacted who were kicked out of the US army after being outed by other members in the force.

After calling her local senators to no avail, she said: "I will not stop calling until I reach them and I can leave them this message.

"My name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, also known as Lady GaGa. I'm calling the Senators... to repeal 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' and oppose John McCain's shameless filibuster."

She tweeted: "Anyone qualified to serve this country should be allowed to do so. We were born this way." (taheena)

Lady Gaga amazed friends with change

Lady Gaga talks about herself in the third-person.

The eccentric singer - who is known to carry a tea cup with her at all times, and has promised to never be seen without high heels - amazed her friends when her down-to-earth nature suddenly changed when she found fame.

Her friend, transsexual Amanda Lepore - who noted the change when she joined her for a plate of spaghetti at her boyfriend Speedy's home - said: "She was super nice and down-to-earth. She was like, 'Oh, Gaga would do this,' 'Gaga that.' But not like it was her, like it was a third person.

"I think she crossed that boundary."

Friends of he 'Poker Face' hitmaker also claim she cultivated her eccentric image and bizarre sense of style to hide the fact she is not classically good looking.

Her pal Wendy Starland - who used to work for the singer - added in Maureen Callahan's new biography Poker Face: The Rise and Rise of Lady Gaga': "I said we can do something theatrical so it's not the attention on her looks. She talked about it too. She was like, 'I know my look is untraditional and I'm not a classic beauty. We have to do other things."

Lady Gaga controlled by Warhol

Lady Gaga is "convinced" she is controlled by Andy Warhol.

The 'Telephone' hitmaker is said to have become obsessed with the late pop artist - who died in 1987 aged 58 - and reportedly makes her decisions based on their imaginary conversations.

A source said: "She is convinced he is controlling her from beyond the grave, guiding her life and career. Her entire life has become dictated by these conversations."

Another insider claimed: "She says she is in touch with his spirit. She sits and talks to him for hours, as if he's in the room with her. She says he tells her what to wear."

The 24-year-old singer is so obsessed with the artist she has bought several of his works and is planning to throw a Warhol-themed party later this week, much to the bemusement of event planners.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "She has told the organisers that everything must be in the spirit of Warhol.

"They were a little confused at first but are doing their best to satisfy her demands. Her house is insane. She has spent thousands turning it into a shrine to Warhol.

"I wouldn't be surprised if she started dressing head to toe in his clothes and changed her name to Andy."

The highest price ever paid for a Warhol work was a staggering $100 million for his 1963 canvas 'Eight Elvises', and he is also famous for his prediction that in the future everyone would enjoy "15 minutes of fame".
